BUSI 2121: Introduction to Organizational Behaviour examines how individual and group behaviours influence organizations, with an emphasis on managing these dynamics effectively. Students will explore key theories and concepts such as perception, motivation, emotions, values, and social identity, and how these factors shape workplace interactions, decision-making, and team dynamics. While the course provides a strong theoretical foundation, practical application is emphasized, encouraging students to strategically apply OB principles in real-world scenarios. Main topics to be covered include organizational culture, leadership, communication, group dynamics, labour relations, and stress management.

By the end of the course, students will be able to recognize and discuss core OB concepts, principles, and analytic techniques, while understanding how behavioural research applies to business contexts. They will develop the ability to evaluate their own behaviour within organizational settings, critically analyze how companies apply OB theories, and assess their outcomes at individual, group, and organizational levels. This course prepares students to confidently apply OB knowledge to practical challenges in the workplace.

Prerequisite: second-year standing.
